2. Official transcripts from all universities you have attended and showing Master's degree; if you are employed by HISD you may submit copies of your transcripts from your HISD file.
3. Three references (forms are part of application packet); all three must have knowledge of your teaching ability

Program Overview
HISD-ACP School Librarian is a one-year state approved certification program for teachers who would like to become a school librarian.
The HISD-ACP Librarian program focuses on the role of the librarian who is an integral part of the school, responsible for strengthening the teaching/learning process so that students can develop the vital skills necessary to locate, analyze, evaluate, interpret, and communicate information and ideas.
The program curriculum is aligned to the Texas school librarian standards and the competencies for the School Librarian TExES exam.
Interns will engage in observations, portfolio activities, children’s literature studies, and state exam preparation.
Admission Requirements and Selection Process
In order to be admitted to the program teachers must meet the following criteria:- Have a Masters degree
- Hold a valid Texas teaching certificate
- Have 2 years teaching experience
- Earn proficient or exceeds in all domains of PDAS for past two years
- Demonstrate oral skills through a successful interview
- Demonstrate written skills through successful response to essay questions
- Demonstrate technology skills through successful completion of skills test

Role of School Librarian
Because the school librarian plays a critical role in campus effectiveness and student achievement, each candidate for the school librarian certificate is of the highest caliber and possesses the knowledge and skills necessary to improve the performance of the diverse student population on their school campus. The school librarian is expected to actively participate in professional development activities in order to continually update his/ her knowledge and skills of best practices and research as they relates to both campus leadership and student learning.
